You know you’re an independent bookseller when…

your first thought on hearing that Eliot Spitzer will probably be resigning as a result of a prostitution scandal is: well, this just TOTALLY throws a wrench in the e-fairness campaign, doesn’t it.

    Hi,

    I loved your comment… BUT don’t think all is lost!! The executive and the Assembly budgets in NY State have the e-fairness provision, and now they will begin negotiating with the Senate. (The Senate’s version of the budget does *not* have the provision.) We are still encouraging NY State indies to write their representatives in Albany, for this fight is still very much winnable. While booksellers won’t be there next week, it still looks like key ABA staff will be in the State Capitol lobbying with legislators, too. Onward!
