I do limited work as a consultant to independent booksellers.  Primarily, this is intended for people who have just opened or bought a bookstore and need regular assistance for a set period of time coordinating the infinite to-do list of a new bookstore.

In addition, although I have not yet done so, I am open to short-term projects for any independent bookstore.  In other words, especially in smaller stores, it can be harder to start new programs because of the start-up period and the work involved.  I would be up to contracting to help out with projects, either in-person in the NYC area, or via phone or email for other areas.  Unless you live in Seattle or London and are paying my travel expenses—I’ll make time for travel, then.

On a slightly related note, I also do some freelance editing and review, both academic and trade.
